ABOUT SCA COURSES
The SCA CDS(Coffee Diploma System) is a internationally recognised education system aimed to meet the needs of coffee professionals everywhere.
The system has six modules:
- Introduction to Coffee
- Barista Skills
- Brewing
- Sensory
- Green Coffee
- Roasting
Each modules is avaliable at three different levels, points attached at every stage. Once you have achieved 100 points you will be awarded the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.
- Introduction to coffee : 10 points
- Foundation level: 5points
- Intermediate level : 10 points
- Professional level: 25 points

SCA INTRODUCTION TO COFFEE
SCA Introduction to Coffee explains the origin and history of coffee, shows the different ways it is prepared and drunk, and introduces the huge variety of flavours that coffee can have. This module looks at the processes coffee goes through from farming to final consumption.
The half day course also includes a “coffee cupping” which allows you to taste the various flavours coffee has to offer. This course is suitable for those with no previous experience with coffee.
The class ends with a short written exam to test the knowledge learned during the course. The
successful pass of the course is rewarded with 10 points in SCA’s Coffee Diploma System.
Course length: 5 hours. It includes snacks and unlimited coffee during the course.
